from the start it was purely boredom. but that can't last
forever. boredom forced initiative, expression, and the urge
to end the boredom.
read some books and took some notes; except not the latter.
put my brain to use and to the internet; my fingers to the
keyboard. websites came out of nothing. notepad became my
good friend along with some useful books about HTML 4 and
javascript. macromedia fireworks for the visual.
then there was freestyle walking and grinding planters couldn't
be any more fun. so a website began. stickers dotted a school.
fun was first and foremost.
friends changed. new directions were aimed at. it began as
a terrible idea. i laughed and scoffed at the idea of daveconger.com.
then i liked it. then i loved it. at first it was more of
an extension of my freestyle walking site. but i quickly distinguished
it.
videos were made. i became an amateur director/editor. i
started writing/recording music. i bought a digital camera.
i started to believe i could write well.
designs changed. photoshop went from awkward to awesome.
content kept coming.
high school ended and college killed the boredom. new content
became non-existent. fights arose from former friends.
summer came. a new design. dave on the shelf
was my idea for simple content in a periodical show; turned
out being less than simple.
the months came faster than the episodes. with christmas
came production. i finished the waters of babel; it was over
a year since conception. the second guess played a set at
the premiere. longboarding 2003 was finished, another big
project. after christmas, updates were sparse, nearly non-exsistent.
a summer project list went up. but few projects were completed.
even fewer made it onto the site. the summer ended with an
updated news system and a msgbrd turned club dc.
years went by with little to talk about. but there was still music. the second guess played shows and then some - bars, parties, battles. albums were produced, fans were made, and times flew by. being about the band quickly took over as my primary interest.
received my bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. got engaged to a model/biologist/actress. started grad school in east lansing and the music started to fade.
